Ahmet Sevimli , a well-known figure in Karaman who is involved in agriculture and animal husbandry, strongly criticized Karaman's negligence in water management in a social media post. Sevimli stated that the city is "going through the worst administrative period in the history of the Republic," and emphasized the urgent need for action , particularly regarding the water issue.
"This is a disgrace, a disgrace, a lack of follow-up, a lack of knowledge. Right now, we have the worst team in the history of the Republic. The most incompetent team. I mean, we're going through an incredibly bad period, an unmanaged period."

“Konya Takes Action for Water, Karaman Remains Silent”
Ahmet Sevimli reminds that Konya is nearing completion of its project to take water from Göksu and is even bidding on the Ermenek Dam, and criticized Karaman for not taking any initiative in this process.
"While Konya is taking important steps to secure its water future, Karaman remains silent. Konya is planning its future and fighting for its water. So, what is Karaman waiting for?" he said
“The water flowing from the Ermenek Dam could be a lifeline for Karaman.”
Sevimli stated that approximately 300 million cubic meters of water flows into the sea from the Ermenek Dam every year, and that if even a small portion of this water were directed to Karaman, it would provide significant relief in terms of both drinking water and agricultural irrigation.
The total fill level of Karaman's three dams isn't even close to the amount of water flowing out of Ermenek Dam. The city's water supply problems are worsening, groundwater levels are receding, and farmers are in a bind.
“The Problem Cannot Be Solved by Hitting the Well”
Emphasizing that the water crisis cannot be solved by simply opening new wells, Sevimli stated that the city needs to develop a permanent water strategy :
"We can't solve this problem by drilling a well. As our ancestors said, 'The mountain cannot stand with the ready supply.' "Karaman needs to develop an urgent and decisive water strategy for drinking water, agriculture, and industry."
“Karaman's Future is in Danger”
Ahmet Sevimli accused the current administration of being “ineffective and apathetic,” and said that these negligences in water management threaten the city's future:
"Agriculture will be severely damaged, water shortages will increase, and future generations will be at great risk. Karaman has no time to lose."
Cute completed his statement by saying , "With respect and love."
